About Me
Hey y’all! I’m Micky ScottBey Jones (she/her).
I used to be a birth doula, now I’m known as The Justice Doula. That means now I accompany people as they birth non-human, precious things into the world - like love, empathy, self-compassion, liberation, healing and resilience. My work with you is about accompaniment - being a caring companion, a witness to your struggle, a curious co-learner, a gentle, firm voice asking you what you want and reminding you of the wisdom you have inside and the resources you have for more growth and resilience.
As a facilitator, my goal is “to make things easier*”. As a coach, I’m here to help you ask better questions and see possibilities to make the changes you want and need to make. The work I support through coaching or facilitating is your work to do - be it collaborate with your team on a strategic plan or come into alignment through team building exercises or improve communication as you learn your enneagram profiles and deepen self-awareness - it is my work to make it easier through skilled support and guidance.
*what does it mean to facilitate?
How do I help?
I help you do clarifying self-awareness work, identify and cultivate your values, develop skills for personal and professional growth, set goals for sustainable leadership and if working with a team, help your team reach new levels of connection and alignment.
Who do I help?
With my 20+ years of experience in various social sector fields: nonprofit, social movements, healthcare and faith communities, the people that tend to find me and resonate with me are people working in the social sector from foundations to nonprofits to community organizations.
How I often support individuals, teams and organizations:
Development of self-awareness, emotional intelligence and leadership skills using the Enneagram model. Enneagram training, typing (finding your Ennea-Type and Instinctual Bias) and coaching w/ understanding of cultural overlays & dynamics
Sustainable leadership practices, self-care and communal care plan development
Healing & resilience building practices for all people with a special atention to Black and Indigenous people & other people of color / people of the global majority and LGBTQ+ people
Facilitation of retreats, team building and other organizational or team processes.
Leadership and Life Coaching for people who are ready to build awareness and take action.
DEIB workshop facilitation and coaching.
Coaching support for people navigating conflict, accountability processes or “cancel campaigns”
I’m not a brand, I’m a person and who I am, including the personal lessons I’ve learned are intertwined with how I build relationships, work, teach, facilitate and coach. I lead with humanity in my work.
I am committed to the flourishing of the people of the Global Majority, of those historically targeted by colonization, patriarchy, homophobia, xenophobia and all the isms.
Because these things cause suffering for all and I want liberation for us all, I work with and support all who are committed to individual and social transformation, healing and change. We must all heal our wounds and do our work. I’m not your average coach or facilitator, but if this resonates with you, you’re not average either. Let’s work together.
